I had raced on other off the shelf tyres before with high wear rates and multiple punctures, so I was quite sceptical as to the claims of Mickey Thompson Tires.
After putting the MTZ P3s on for the first race, I was blown away with how much sooner we pulled up under braking - the grip levels were amazing! It took me a lap to get the braking points right.
After two laps of throwing the car around over limestone and mallee stumps, I was concerned with the condition of the rear tyres and radioed pits to let them know that we would have to rotate the tyres during our service break.
When we came in we barely saw any wear at all, so we didn’t bother rotating. These tyres lasted five races and were still in serviceable condition, whereas our previous tyres would only get us two races…if we didn’t get punctures!
