"I first started off-road racing in Waikerie SA back in the early 1980’s with my own home built buggy. I then made the move to tropical north QLD and discovered the opportunity of taking people for a drive and getting paid to do so, that’s when Off Road Rush was created. Seventeen years later, we’re still giving people the time of their lives!
I have run many different brands of tyres over the years, from second hand tyres from the dump in the early days, to full sponsorship from big name tyre companies.
I was first introduced to Mickey Thompson tyres when I ran a Drive Day for their dealers eight years ago. They insisted I run their tyres, and once I put the MTZ P3’s on I could not believe the difference in the vehicle! It stopped better, gripped in the corners better and the tyres lasted longer. That’s when I made the call to change over. I haven’t looked back since.
I have competed in many events around Australia and I have won a few championships on my Mickey Thompson tyres. I also had the life changing opportunity to compete in the world renowned Baja 1000 in Mexico in 2014, which saw me finish 43rd out of 237 entries, and 8th in my class.
We also run the All-Terrain on our tow vehicle which takes our buggy to events around Australia, completes the reconnaissance at each event and does the school run during the week.
I can rely on Mickey Thompson tyres to do the job both on and off-road, which is why I cannot recommend the product enough to other competitors."
