Every
first quality tyre bearing our name and serial number and not branded
"NA" which is not used for racing is warranted to be free
of defects in workmanship and material during the life of the original
tread design.
TREAD
LIFE
When the tread becomes worn down to 1.6 mm (shown by tread wear
indicators moulded into the tread grooves) the tyre is worn out
and this warranty ends.
REPLACEMENT
CHARGE
The replacement charge will be determined by multiplying the consumer's
original purchase price by the percentage of original tread depth
worn from the tyre. The consumer must pay for mounting, balancing
and any other additional charges, or the acceptance by the consumer
of a higher priced replacement tyre.
The
warranty is made for the exclusive benefit of the original owner
actually using these products, is not assignable and no claim hereunder
will be recognized unless submitted on our standard claim form duly
filled out and signed by such owner or authorised reseller.
This
warranty does not in any way extend to any consequential damages
or losses.
There
is no other warranty, or liability, expressed or implied, applicable
to these products. No representative has the authority to make any
representation, promise, or agreement except as stated herein.
WHAT
IS NOT COVERED
This warranty does not cover tyres that become unserviceable due
to:
1. Conditions resulting from road hazards, such as cut, snags or
punctures.
2. Conditions resulting from improper installation, wheel misalignment,
or tyre/wheel assembly imbalance.
3. Conditions resulting from consumer damage, such as improper tyre
and vehicle maintenance, misuse, abuse or accident.
4. Passenger car tyres used in any commercial application.
5. Ride complaints after the first 1mm tread wear.
6. Ozone or weather cracking on tyres over four (4) years from date
of purchase.
TYRES:
RADIAL VERSUS BIAS
Bias tyres tend to ride and handle differently than radials. Bias
ply or bias belted and radial tyres should not be mixed on the same
vehicle.
M/T
is not responsible for abnormal wear due to suspension modifications
and improper maintenance.
Mickey
Thompson Tire Company offers tyres for sale, which may be used in
racing either on or off-road. Due to the many varied and different
conditions to which racing tyres are exposed and because of the
manner in which racing is conducted, Mickey Thompson Tire Company
makes absolutely no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the fitness
for a general or particular purpose or of merchantability in connection
with any offer of sale or sale of racing tyres. "MICKEY THOMPSON
RACING TYRES USED IN RACING ARE SOLD AS IS".
MILEAGE
WARRANTY PROCESS
The
Mileage Warranty is only applicable at participating authorised
Mickey Thompson Dealers in capital cities within Australia. Most
capital city stores do. All country stores do not. Ask your tyre
dealer if they participate in this programme.
How
to maintain the warranty
Every 10,000km you need to visit any authorised Mickey Thompson
dealer to have your warranty card endorsed. Before endorsement,
your tyres will be inspected for wear and if considered necessary
by the dealer, balanced and rotated and steering aligned. Dealers
have the right to refuse endorsing your warranty card if a fault
is present in your vehicle that is causing erratic or rapid tyre
wear.
What
it will cost you
Check the Warranty Card as it has a special low price for this service
for Mickey Thompson customers. This price is valid only at the selling
dealer. Other dealers may have set different charges due to local
costs and conditions.
How
to Claim on any Shortfall
As long as an authorised Mickey Thompson dealer has endorsed your
warranty card every 10,000 km and the original warranty card and
invoices for the regular services are forwarded to your Mickey Thompson
state distributor. The state distributor will then organize through
an authorised Mickey Thompson dealer to credit you with any shortfall
you may be eligible for based on the warranty conditions off the
purchase of your replacement Mickey Thompson tyres.
Who
isn't Eligible for the Warranty?
· Taxi or Hire vehicles.
· A participating dealer has the right to refuse or vary
the warranty period based on their discretion, or because of the
particular use of the vehicle.
· Tyres that exhibit extreme or abnormal use may have their
adjustment altered rather than declined.
· The mileage warranty is only applicable to Capital City
purchases. When used in the same conditions, Mickey Thompson Tires
will usually outlast most competitor brands. However, some areas
in Australia will cause rapid wear beyond normal use with any brand.
That is why the mileage warranty is restricted to Mickey Thompson
tyres purchased and normally used in Capital Cities.
