Baja Radial MTX

G'day Damian,

Two years and over forty two thousand kilometres later I'm so impressed by Milo's Mickey Thompson MTX's. I'm putting down my beer to scribble a quick thanks on this beer coaster to the guys at Fourby's.

I've been a miner and prospector, worked as an outback tour guide and currently test off-road vehicles for a living but despite all that bush experience I've never had a set of tyres this good. The MTX's transformed my old 45 Troopy's performance, both on and off road. They're one of the sweetest steering and quietest tyres on the highway I've ever used, making those thousand plus kilometre days as easy as they can be.

The level of traction in the wet around town and touring is phenomenal yet these are the same tyres that spent a week in the Simpson at 14lbs, two weeks on the west coast of Tasmania with pressures as low as 8lbs (dealing with beach quicksand and fresh drifts), a couple of weeks climbing sharp rocky slopes all around the Flinders, slipped and slid up the Cape on a mud ridden wet season tour and copious long days of hot desert hauling everywhere else.

All my touring is done heavily loaded and while I've always kept an eye on the MTX's pressures, I've never had a puncture or flat. Some of that's good luck but it's helped by those re-inforced sidewalls and an advanced tread pattern.

During most of these trips we've been accompanied by super trick off-road vehicles running much more expensive rubber dedicated to the particular terrain we're travelling through - but not once has Milo been left behind. These Mickey Thompson MTX tyres are the duck's nuts as far as I'm concerned because they've proven themselves in the real world on a real truck in just about every situation you could put a vehicle. And the money I've saved help keep me in, err, inspiration. Burp.
