MT announce sponsorship dealer with Offroad Rush

Mickey Thompson has announced a sponsorship deal with the Queensland based off road racing team of
Off Road Rush for the 2009 Season.

Brad Smith from Mickey Thompson Australia announced the deal ahead of the First Round of the 2009 Australian Off Road Championship the ARB - Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450 running in Western Australia over the Easter weekend.

The newly built Chevy Rush Truck will compete in the Extreme 2WD class in the Australian Off Road Championship. Built in Queensland by Chris, Matt and Rhyce Western, it is powered by a 5.7L Chev engine coupled to an Albins Transaxle. The Off Road Rush team believe they have the perfect combination to mix it with the Ultimate Extreme 2WD Trophy Trucks, with Chris and Matt Western sharing the driving and Stuey Bishop taking up the navigator duties.

"You only have to look at the vehicle to see it is first class and, to be the first of its kind built here in Australia, we are positive that we are part of a winning team" continued Brad Smith.

"The vehicle is running our latest tyre, the MTZ, which incorporates the very latest in radial tyre technology (Powerply Construction). This race bred technology belongs on a vehicle like this and the best part is that the MTZs are available for everyday four wheel drives too. That's right, now people can run the same products that the off road racing champions are running on without compromising safety or handling. What it really means is that just like the off road racing champions, the consumer gets to be 'Part of the Legend'. I think that's pretty cool" stated Smith.

Off Road Rush's Chris Western agreed "to have this opportunity with Mickey Thompson is awesome. Matt and I are looking forward to becoming part of the legend. It is great to see that Mickey Thompsons' racing history can continue to evolve here in Australia taking us to the next level by utilising Mickey Thompsons race bred innovations".
